General orientations

- Always wear safety glasses to protect the eyes.
- Wear gloves to protect the hands.
- Never use pliers as a hammer. It can crack or even break.
- Never expose pliers to excessive heat. It can change the heat treatment applied at the cutting edges and reduce the performance of the pliers.
- Always ensure pliers are perpendicular to the wire for a quicker and safer operation.
- The grip on most pliers is provided for comfort only. Pliers that can be used on electrical lines, are identified on the grip with the marking 1000V. You must ensure that you inspect the electrical insulation on a regular basis. If the insulated grip becomes cracked, you must stop using the pliers immediately.
- Oil the joint occasionally as this will extend the life of the pliers and improve their use.
- Never increase the length of the plier handle. It increases the load applied on the plier head and can break it.
- Always use the correct type of pliers for the job. Never use pliers to cut hardened wires, unless they are designed for this purpose.
- Never use the pliers on nuts or screws. A wrench or spanner makes a better job and reduces the risk of damaging the edges.
- Store the pliers in a clean and dry place.
- Keep pliers out of the reach of children.
